Meet Dr. Alexander Ritchey
Dr. Alexander Ritchey received his Bachelor of Science degree from Illinois Wesleyan University in 1995. He continued his education at Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine, graduating with honors and earning a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in May of 2000. Dr. Ritchey completed his Orthodontic Residency at St. Louis University Center for Advanced Dental Education earning a Master of Science degree in Dentistry in December of 2002.
Alex and his wife, Sheri, were born and raised in Joliet. Their plan after completing school was to return home the Joliet area to raise their children close to family.
Dr. Ritchey had the opportunity to join Dr. Richard Renwick’s practice as an associate and started his orthodontic career in January 2003. In January 2004, Dr. Ritchey purchased Dr. Renwick’s Joliet and Morris practices allowing him to continue his career in the community he has always called home. Then in January 2017, Dr. Ritchey and Dr. Clarence Red III decided to collaborate and merged their practices to create RRC Orthodontics.
Alex and Sheri have 3 amazing children and enjoy spending time with them whenever possible. Although the years spent traveling to gymnatics meets, volleyball matches, and cheer competitions has come to and end, Rylee, Caden, and Piper still keep them on the move. Traveling to North Carolina, Alabama, and downtown Chicago, they don't let much time pass without a visit to one of their 3 greatest gifts.
In their free time, Alex and Sheri love spending time at their lake house in Michigan. Boating, golfing, pickleball, and paddle boarding are just a few of the things they enjoy together. And when they're not entertaining family and friends at the lake, takeout and a good Netflix series is a perfect night for these 'empty nesters.'
Over the past 20 years of practice, Dr. Ritchey has also been actively involved in many community organizations. He supports our community as a provider and member of the Smile Change Lives and the Gifted Smiles programs. Along with serving in several leadership roles on both the State and local levels of organized Dentistry and Orthodontics, Dr. Ritchey has served on the board of the George Werden Buck Boy's and Girl's Club of Joliet. Sheri has also taken active volunteer roles throughout our community including, JJWC, Easter Seals, and the Joliet Historical Museum to name a few. Additionally, Alex and Sheri, as part of R&R Orthodontics, are honored to support our patients interests and sponsor local school fundraisers, sports teams, and student activities, and feel blessed to serve other needs in the community.
